The Nurseries

This scene is showcasing how the Authority brainwashes the infants in their developing stage. The nurses present the babies with books and flowers and make them suffer a mile of electric shock whenever they are nearest towards it. After 200 repetitions of the same process, The children will have an instinctive hatred of books and flowers, therefore they won’t want to leave the city and explore nature when they grow older.
